We all have heard of SMART goals but why do some people use them and some people don’t use them? What are SMART goals? SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Time-bound.
I remember fighting the initial SMART goal method when I started my weight loss journey and just writing goals and plans in whatever format fit best at the time, the thing was that I really was writing SMART goals, I was just choosing to not use that exact approach. I would state what I wanted, and when I wanted it, and how I was going to do it. For example, I write a 30-day plan to lose 10 pounds stating: my why my how and my action steps. I did this for several years on my health journey it was not until I started helping others with their goals that I realized I needed to use the simple SMART method.
I have clients who tell me they don’t know what their goals are. When I work with you, I take the stance that you have some dreams you just need someone to help you write the goals down and get them organized! I will do a one-on-one session with you so that we can talk it out. I also have worksheets if you need more time to write it out and get it out of your head.
