We don’t accomplish our goals because we tend to set them and forget them. Your goals aren’t like an alarm clock where you set them, and an alarm goes off when you achieve them. You have to take an active role in your goals! That’s why I’m talking about revisiting your 2021 goals because if you haven’t looked at them since January, it’s time to change that!
Reprioritize Your Goals
Life has a way of throwing us curveballs, especially when we least expect it. So, don’t feel bad if you look at your goals today and your priorities have changed or realigned. That’s okay! That’s another reason why it’s so important to revisit your goals, now is the time to reprioritize based on where you are now.
When you see your goals again, identify what goals you’d still like to achieve, what goals you’d like to put on hold or remove, and what goals you’d like to adjust or change to align better. You can also add new goals if you’d like. Now, you have a list of goals you can feel motivated about once more!
Reward Yourself
It’s a great time to reward yourself for the goals you’ve completed so far! Take this opportunity to feel prideful and accomplished. Do something for yourself to celebrate your win! Not just because it’s nice to do, but it will also motivate you to accomplish more of your goals!
Do something you love, like watch your favorite movie or spend a night doing your favorite hobby. Buy yourself something as a token of your appreciation. It doesn’t have to be expensive, just something that makes you feel good about your win!
Setting New Goals
When revisiting your former goals, you may feel the need to set new goals to reflect where you are in life currently. It’s essential to be mindful of not consistently setting new goals without achievement. If you find yourself never reaching your goals, it may be time to revisit your goal strategy to understand what’s missing.
Look first at adjusting current goals; perhaps you have the same goal but have a new target date to complete it. If you set a new goal, remember to set realistic goals that you feel are attainable. For more tips on setting 2021 goals, head to this blog post.
