It doesn’t matter how much you plan, how dedicated you are to your goals, or even how long you’ve been working on a certain milestone. There’s always a possibility you can get stuck. Even the most accomplished person will tell you that success is not linear. You are bound to hit a wall at some point. But, that doesn’t mean you’re doomed to not reach your goals, it just means you need to find a way to break through.
In this blog, we’re going to talk about how to get unstuck when you’re trying to achieve your goals.
Take a Step Back
If you feel like you’re in a place where you’re not making any progress on your goals, the first thing I will tell you to do is take a break. A go-getter like you is probably thinking how can I possibly stop now? Well, that may be the very thing that will get you back on track.
When you’re working on your goals, you’re constantly engaged – mentally and physically. Your brain is occupied with various plans and strategies while your body is completing tasks and actions. You might be stuck because you need to rest your mind and body. Take a night off, do something you enjoy, or even better – plan a vacation!
Brain Dump All Your Ideas
Okay, you’ve taken a break, but instead of coming back refreshed, you still feel like you’re not getting anywhere. That means it’s brain dump time! Your mind might be crowded with too many ideas and thoughts. If you’re taking action on some of these ideas, it might be what’s holding you back as you’re trying to juggle too many things.
Grab a piece of paper and a pen. Sit down and write down all of your thoughts and ideas, however, they come to you. You can write bullets or paragraphs, it doesn’t matter! What matters is getting all of your ideas out of your head and onto the page. Once you’re done, take a minute to appreciate some free space in your mind!
